Profile Settings
Your Profile page is where you manage your own identity in Nembl — your name, email, recovery options, MFA, and theme. It's separate from Company settings (administered by Company admins) and from Notification preferences (which has its own page).
Open from Settings → Profile in the sidebar.
Identity
The top section is your basic profile:
- Avatar — image shown next to your name throughout the app. Upload a new one or pick a generated initials avatar.
- Display name — what people see in mentions, activity feeds, and assignments
- Username — your unique handle within Nembl (used in URLs and
@mentions) - Timezone — controls how timestamps render for you across the app. Default is UTC.
- Theme — Light, Dark, or System (follows your OS preference)
Changes save when you click Save at the bottom of the section.
Your email is used for sign-in and notification delivery. Two separate addresses are tracked:
Primary email
The address you use to sign in. To change it:
- Click Change Email
- Enter the new address
- Nembl sends a verification link to the new address — click it to confirm
- Until you click the link, your old email stays primary; the new one shows as pending
This protects against typos and lets you cancel the change before it takes effect.
Recovery email
A backup address used for password resets if you lose access to your primary email. Optional but strongly recommended. Verify it the same way (Nembl sends a confirmation link).
Company email (Company accounts only)
If your account is part of a COMPANY, the Company can request that you verify a Company-domain email (e.g. you signed up with you@gmail.com but the Company expects you@acme.com). Verifying it associates your identity with the Company without forcing you to abandon your personal email.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
When Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled on your account:
- TOTP authenticator (Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator, etc.) is required at sign-in after password
- Recovery codes — Nembl generates 8 single-use codes you store offline. Use one if you lose access to your authenticator. The Profile page shows how many unused codes you have left and lets you regenerate them.
To enable: click Enable MFA, scan the QR code into your authenticator, confirm with a 6-digit code. To disable: click Disable MFA (you'll be asked to confirm with a current 6-digit code).
MFA availability — depends on whether your deployment supports it. If the Enable MFA button is missing, your environment doesn't have it wired up yet.
Danger Zone — Delete Account
Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible:
- All requests you submitted, tasks you owned, and workflows you ran are anonymized (the work stays for audit; your name is replaced with "Deleted user")
- Your email is freed for re-registration
- For Company members: if you are the only owner of a Company, you can't delete your account until you transfer ownership or delete the Company first
- For Individual accounts: deletion includes the Individual account itself
Click Delete Account, confirm with your password (and MFA if enabled), and the deletion runs immediately.
