Notification Preferences

Nembl sends notifications to keep you informed about requests, tasks, workflows, and other activity. You control which notifications you receive, how you receive them, and when they are delivered.

Accessing Notification Settings

  1. Click your profile icon in the sidebar.
  2. Select Settings or Notification Preferences.
  3. You will see a list of notification categories with toggles for each channel.

Notification Channels

Nembl delivers notifications through two channels:

In-App Notifications

In-app notifications appear as a badge on the bell icon in the top navigation bar. Click the bell to see your recent notifications. In-app notifications are:

  • Always available while you are using Nembl.
  • Shown in real time as events happen.
  • Stored in your notification history so you can review them later.

Email Notifications

Email notifications are sent to the email address on your account. They are useful for staying informed when you are not actively using Nembl. Email notifications include:

  • A summary of what happened.
  • A direct link to the relevant request, task, or workflow.
  • Enough context that you can decide whether to act immediately or wait.

Choosing What to Receive

You can enable or disable notifications for each category independently on each channel. For example, you might want in-app notifications for everything but only email notifications for urgent items.

Notification Categories

CategoryWhat It Covers
Request updatesStatus changes on requests you submitted or are following
Task assignmentsNew tasks assigned to you or reassigned from you
Task completionsTasks completed on requests you own or follow
Workflow eventsWorkflow phase changes, approvals needed, escalations
Inbox activityNew items arriving in your personal or team inbox
CommentsNew comments on requests or tasks you are involved in
EscalationsOverdue tasks, stuck workflows, or items needing urgent attention

For each category, you can toggle:

  • In-app — On or off
  • Email — On or off

Priority Filtering

Not every notification is equally important. Priority filtering lets you limit email notifications to only high-priority and urgent events, while keeping in-app notifications for everything.

To set priority filtering:

  1. Go to Notification Preferences.
  2. Find the Priority Filter section.
  3. Choose the minimum priority level for email notifications (for example, "High and above").
  4. Click Save.

With this setting, routine Low and Medium priority events will show as in-app notifications only, while High and Urgent events will also send you an email.

Schedule Windows

If you do not want to receive email notifications outside of work hours, set a notification schedule:

  1. Go to Notification Preferences.
  2. Find the Schedule section.
  3. Set your working hours (for example, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM).
  4. Choose your time zone.
  5. Click Save.

Email notifications that occur outside your schedule window are held and delivered as a digest when your next window opens. In-app notifications are still recorded in real time and visible when you next log in.

Tips for Managing Notifications

  • Start with defaults and adjust. Nembl's default settings cover the most common needs. Use them for a week, then fine-tune based on what you find useful or noisy.
  • Use priority filtering to reduce email volume. Keep in-app notifications broad and email notifications focused on what truly needs your attention away from the platform.
  • Set a schedule if you work set hours. This prevents after-hours email noise while ensuring you get a summary when you start your day.
  • Do not turn off escalation notifications. These alert you to overdue tasks and stuck workflows that need action. Keeping them on helps prevent bottlenecks.
  • Review periodically. As your role changes or you join new teams, revisit your preferences to make sure they still match how you work.
