Subscriptions

Manage your Nembl subscription, including plan changes, billing periods, payment methods, and trial management.

Viewing Your Subscription

Navigate to Settings > Billing > Subscription to view your current plan details:

  • Current plan name and tier
  • Billing period (monthly)
  • Next billing date
  • Payment method on file
  • Subscription status (Active, Trialing, Past Due, Cancelled)

Upgrading Your Plan

Upgrading gives you immediate access to the higher tier's features and limits.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Subscription.
  2. Click Change Plan.
  3. Select the new plan tier.
  4. Review the price difference and prorated charges.
  5. Click Confirm Upgrade.

How Proration Works

When you upgrade mid-billing cycle:

  • You are charged the prorated difference for the remaining days in the current period.
  • The new plan takes effect immediately.
  • Your next billing date remains the same.

For example, upgrading from Starter ($49/mo) to Growth ($149/mo) on day 15 of a 30-day cycle charges approximately $50 for the remaining 15 days.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrading reduces your plan tier at the end of the current billing period.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Subscription.
  2. Click Change Plan.
  3. Select the lower plan tier.
  4. Review any features or capacity you will lose.
  5. Click Confirm Downgrade.

Before You Downgrade

Check that your current usage fits within the lower plan's limits:

CheckWhat Happens If Over Limit
MembersYou must remove members to fit the new plan's limit before the downgrade takes effect
ServicesExcess services are not deleted but become read-only (no new requests)
WorkflowsExcess workflows are not deleted but cannot be published
ConnectorsExcess connectors are disconnected
StorageYou must reduce storage usage or files become read-only

The downgrade confirmation screen warns you about any limits you currently exceed.

Billing Period

All Nembl subscriptions are billed monthly. Each billing period starts on the day you first subscribed.

Billing History

View past invoices from Settings > Billing > History. Each invoice shows:

  • Invoice date and number
  • Plan and price
  • Prorated adjustments
  • Credits applied
  • Payment method used
  • Payment status

Download invoices as PDF for your records.

Payment Methods

Adding a Payment Method

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Payment Methods.
  2. Click Add Payment Method.
  3. Enter your card details (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
  4. Click Save.

Updating or Removing

  • Click the edit icon to update card details.
  • Click remove to delete a saved card. You must have at least one payment method on file with an active subscription.

Invoice Billing

Enterprise customers can request invoice-based billing (net-30 terms). Contact your account manager to set this up.

Trial Management

During Your Trial

New Company accounts start with a 14-day Growth plan trial. During the trial:

  • All Growth features are available with no restrictions.
  • No payment method is required.
  • You can add members, create services, build workflows, and install packages.

Trial Notifications

After Trial Expiration

When the trial ends without selecting a plan:

  • Existing data is preserved for 30 days.
  • You can view but not create new services, workflows, or requests.
  • Admin functions (settings, members, billing) remain accessible so you can subscribe.
  • After 30 days without subscribing, the account is suspended.

Converting from Trial

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Subscription.
  2. Click Select Plan.
  3. Choose your plan tier.
  4. Enter payment details.
  5. Click Subscribe.

Your trial data and configuration carry forward seamlessly.

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Subscription.
  2. Click Cancel Subscription.
  3. Select a reason for cancellation (optional feedback).
  4. Confirm cancellation.

After Cancellation

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
  • No further charges are made.
  • After the period ends, your account enters a limited state (same as trial expiration).
  • Data is preserved for 30 days after the subscription ends.
  • You can resubscribe at any time to restore full access.

Best Practices

  • Start with Growth. The 14-day trial lets you evaluate Growth features risk-free before committing.
  • Monitor usage before downgrading. Check your member count, service count, and storage usage against the target plan's limits.
  • Keep payment methods current. Failed payments put your subscription in Past Due status, which limits functionality after a grace period.
  • Export data before cancelling. While data is preserved for 30 days, export critical records for your own archives.
